Course Objective:
The Foreign Object Elimination Training Course covers all the elements of FOD Prevention as established in both NAS 412 and the NCATT Foreign Object Elimination Standard. You will learn that FOD Prevention is much more than just picking up debris on the ramp or hangar floor. It also involves tool control processes, hardware accountability, material handling, FOD management, and FOD awareness. This course prepares you for the NCATT Foreign Object Elimination Certification Exam which will be given at the end of the class. Get trained and get certified! …and demonstrate that you have the knowledge and skills to prevent costly Foreign Object Damage and save your company money!

At the end of this review, course attendees should be prepared to take the NCATT FOE certification test, which will be administered free of charge (a $100 value).

Course Goals:

  • Learn standard FOD prevention terms and definitions used in both civilian and military aviation.

  • Increase awareness by analyzing the causes and effects of FOD through case study.

  • Common FOD prevention methods and practices used in both military and civil aviation.

  • Discover common FOD management practices related to reporting and investigating FOD.

  • Explore “lessons learned” from FOD incidents that could have been prevented, if better maintenance practices had been used.

Azimuth Aerospace Solutions has been awarded FAA IA-Refresher acceptance for this training course giving aviation maintenance professionals with Inspection Authorization (IA) eight (8) hours of refresher training credit. Azimuth Aerospace Solutions is also an authorized testing center for NCATT, allowing students to take the official NCATT Foreign Object Elimination Certification Exam following the completion of this training course.
