Export Compliance Strategy: Making Money and Staying Out of Jail!
8 a.m. - 12 p.m. (4-hour session) / Annapolis 4
Presented by Jason Dickstein
, Washington Aviation Group
Doing business across international borders is full of obstacles, and U.S. export laws can be among the most tricky obstacles to navigate. In 2011, the U.S. government issued proposed export rules that would shift many ITAR-controlled items (include many avionics) to BIS control (which could make it easier for AEA members to export them). These rules are expected to be finalized in late 2012. In this class, discussion will center on how to comply with U.S. export laws, by identifying the right standards for compliance and having a structured approach to ensuring compliance with each of them. This session also will examine the proposed changes to the U.S. export rules and how they might change the way you do business. Finally, some of the “tricks” that aviation exporters might employ to make exporting easier will be discussed.
