Foreword Written by NBAA President/CEO Ed Bolen ORLANDO, Fla. — The Aircraft Electronics Association’s 2009/2010 edition of the Pilot’s Guide to Avionics is a complimentary annual avionics publication, which is distributed during the NBAA Annual Meeting & Convention. The Pilot’s Guide is available at no charge to pilots, avionics technicians, AEA members and attendees of NBAA’s trade show. The free Pilot’s Guide to Avionics is a comprehensive buyer’s guide featuring more than 170 pages of the latest information and technologies for aircraft avionics. It also features a valuable consumers directory of certified avionics and instrument facilities, manufacturers and distributors throughout the world. Ed Bolen, president and CEO of NBAA, wrote the foreword for this year’s Pilot’s Guide. To help pilots with their avionics buying decisions, some of the topics included in this year’s edition of the Pilot’s Guide include: New Avionics Products; ELT Comparisons; Fuel-Management Systems; Synthetic & Enhanced Vision; Glass-Panel Retrofits; and Standalone Instruments. In addition to its free distribution during the 62nd annual NBAA Annual Meeting & Convention from Oct. 20-22, in Orlando, Fla., at the AEA’s Booth No. 4961, the Pilot’s Guide also will be distributed during the AOPA Aviation Summit from Nov. 5-7, in Tampa, Fla., Booth No. 835, and the AEA West Meeting from Nov.18-20, in Reno, Nev..
