Changes to the export rules, as those rules apply to avionics and other aircraft parts. These rules moved many articles from control under the State Department rules (ITARs) to control under the Commerce Department rules, and it created new commodity classifications in the Commerce Department rules. This session is meant to help those who are struggling to understand the changes, as well as help to familiarize the AEA community with the new export standards.
EASA Rules for Ensuring Good Parts

EASA is changing EASA 145.A.42 to better emphasize receiving inspections and to require oversight of parts sources (like suppliers). With or without an SMS program, repair stations need the tools to look at themselves and make corrective actions. This session will offer the tools and philosophies needed to effectively look at the repair station, identify areas of concern and perform the needed risk assessment and risk management, and finally develop and implement a corrective action plan.

You finished the installation but the customer never paid. Now what do you do? If you have properly established a lien against the aircraft, then this may give you the leverage that you need in order to secure payment. Establishing aircraft liens can be an important tool to help ensure your payment for maintenance and alterations. Aircraft lien laws vary from state to state, but there are certain elements that are fairly common across all jurisdictions. This session will examine the basic types of lien laws, explain how to find lien laws in your state, and explain how to establish and file typical liens against customer aircraft.
