Press Registration

To qualify for AEA Convention press registration, an individual must represent a recognized news media organization and attend the convention in an editorial or journalistic capacity, with a focus on aviation-related news and information.

Press registration is available to qualified representatives of:

  • Print media – newspapers, news magazines, and other established print publications
  • Broadcast media – radio and television news organizations
  • Digital media – online newspapers, news publications, established news websites, podcasts, and other digital news media

Press Registration Eligibility

Please note the following eligibility criteria for press registration:

  • Press registration is reserved for individuals attending the event in a bona fide editorial or journalistic capacity. Advertising, marketing, public relations, and management personnel are not eligible for press registration unless they have a documented editorial assignment for the event. Digital content creators and industry influencers are likewise not eligible unless they have a documented editorial assignment. Individuals serving in these capacities on behalf of exhibiting companies must register through exhibitor registration. Individuals serving in these capacities on behalf of nonexhibiting organizations must register through attendee registration.
  • Freelance journalists and photographers are eligible for press registration only when working on a specific assignment from a recognized media outlet. Freelancers should enter the name of the assigning media outlet when registering and may be asked to provide documentation of the assignment.
  • Press or journalist identification cards issued by third-party organizations do not, by themselves, qualify an individual for press registration. The issuing organization must be a recognized news media outlet, and AEA may request additional documentation to verify eligibility.
  • Photographers are eligible for press registration when covering the convention for editorial purposes on behalf of a recognized media outlet. Photographers working for stock photography agencies, taking photographs for resale, or performing other commercial photography services must register as paid attendees or exhibitors, as applicable.
  • Bloggers, vloggers, podcast producers, and other independent digital publishers may be considered for press registration when they can demonstrate an established history of legitimate editorial coverage. Documentation may include the length of time the publication or program has been operating, audience or subscriber information, and previous coverage of aviation, avionics, or AEA events. Maintaining a social media page or account, by itself, does not qualify an individual for press registration.
  • All press registration requests must be submitted through the online registration system. Applications will not be accepted by phone, fax, or email.
  • AEA may limit the number of press credentials issued to an individual media outlet based on the outlet's coverage needs and the nature and scope of its coverage. Individuals beyond the approved number may be required to register at the applicable attendee rate.

AEA reserves the right to determine whether an individual meets the eligibility requirements for press registration and may deny requests that do not meet these requirements.

Press Contact Information
Registration information for credentialed members of the press, including email addresses, may be made available to exhibiting companies upon request for legitimate media-relations purposes. Credentialed members of the press may also receive news, announcements, and other communications by email from AEA Convention management and participating exhibitors.

Registration Approval
After submitting a press registration request, you will receive an email confirming that your request has been received. A final confirmation email will be sent once your press registration has been approved or denied.

An invitation-only press luncheon will take place on the first day of the convention for credentialed members of the press who submit their press registration requests by March 1, 2027.

If you have questions about press registration, please contact Geoff Hill at 816-347-8400 or geoffh@aea.net.

We look forward to welcoming you to the AEA International Convention & Trade Show.
