Aircraft Certification Process Review and Reform ARC Issues Report to FAA Administrator

Earlier this year, the FAA administrator chartered the Aircraft Certification Process Review and Reform Aviation Rulemaking Committee in response to the congressional mandate contained in Section 312 of the Federal Aviation Administration Modernization and Reform Act of 2012 (Public Law 112–95).  The Aircraft Electronics Association participated as a member of the ARC.

Section 312 of the Federal Aviation Administration Modernization and Reform Act of 2012 required the FAA administrator, in consultation with the aviation industry, to conduct an assessment of the aircraft certification and approval process. This final report responds to the administrator’s charter to conduct an assessment of the certification and approval process and to make recommendations to streamline and re-engineer the aircraft certification process.
