SHOPS BEWARE: New Credit Card Scam is Circulating

A few AEA members have reported in the last several days receiving suspicious emails from an individual asking for quotes on aircraft maintenance for a business jet. The individual asks the shop to charge their “credit card” for $3,500, and then requests that the shop send a large portion of money to pay an “aircraft shipper” to get the aircraft shipped to the maintenance facility for repair. In this case, the credit card is most likely stolen or not valid.

As always, the AEA suggests you thoroughly investigate any business proposals received via e-mail or telephone.
