Safety Management Systems Update

The AEA and ARSA have been collaborating to provide timely guidance to the international maintenance industry on establishing and retaining compliance with the special conditions contained in the maintenance annexes in bilateral aviation safety agreements. The latest in the collaboration is an advisory on the need to stay compliant with the EASA mandate to implement a safety management system by integrating the elements into the repair station’s operations.

In addition, the AEA and ARSA have revised and updated the Repair Station (14 CFR Part 145) to the FAA’s Part 5 Gap Analysis.

Both documents are available in the Information Distribution tab on the Safety Promotion drop-down menu on the AEA's SMS webpage.

As a reminder, EASA 145s have less than two weeks to be in compliance with the Dec. 31, 2025, deadline.
