This position is responsible for the installation, service, and repair of avionics and electrical systems for general aviation aircraft, such as, ADS-B, WAAS GPS, Airborne Navigation and Communication Systems, Autopilot, Compass Systems, Audio Panels/Intercoms, etc.

POSITION DDESCRIPTION

Seeking a skilled electrical and/or pneumatic technician for the Calibration Lab. Diagnosing malfunctions and faults in electrical and pneumatic systems, apparatus, and components. Assembling, installing, testing, and maintaining electrical systems and pneumatic equipment using hand and power tools.  Reading and interpreting electrical and electronic circuit blueprints, diagrams, and schematics. Contributes to upkeep and updating of required paperwork such as records, maintenance logs, documents, manuals, drawings, and asset logs. Discuss technical support problems related to maintenance or operation of equipment with customers and internal staff, as applicable and performing other related duties as required or directed. Experience in aerospace air data test equipment a plus.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK CONDITIONS

The physical requirements of this position include the ability to lift (up to 100 lbs.), carry, push/pull, climb, kneel/crawl, bend/ stoop, crouch, twist, handle/grasp, and reach. Normal to correctable vision is required. Must be able to effectively communicate with co-employees and supervisors. Work is performed indoors. The employee must be able to perform work on or around moving equipment. The noise level in the work environment is like that of most calibration lab environments. Knowledge of MOX software a plus.

RESPONSIBILITY AND QUALIFICATIONS

  •  Must be able to read, communicate and comprehend written and oral instructions in English.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing through letters and email.
  • Perform trouble shooting, electrical and pneumatic repair, calibration, service, to aircraft air data test equipment per the manufacturers specified repair processes and procedures.
  • Record shipment data (incoming and outgoing), such as weight, charges, space availability, damages, or discrepancies for reporting, accounting, for recordkeeping purposes.
  • Prepare documents, such as work orders, and service reports/quotes for customer approvals prior to work being completed.
  • Confer or correspond with other staff members or customers to communicate status of units in house for calibration, service, repair, or warranty.
  • Test, evaluate, measure, removal and replace component or repair at the circuit board level.
  • Examine shipment contents and compare with records such as manifests, invoices, or orders to verify accuracy.
  • Be involved in quality activities.
  • Obtain quality education training, as provided by management.
  • Submit ideas for improvement.
  • Perform assignments or responsibilities indicated in the Quality Manual and in the procedures related to this position.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Military experience, Associate degree, or equivalent within an electrical technician or electrical engineering scope of work. This education can be substituted by 2-3 years of experience in a similar position.

SKILLS & WORK REQUIREMENTS

  • Part Time & Full-time positions available - Monday thru Friday 7Am to 5PM with occasional additional days when required.
  • Work location is near the DFW Airport, Irving Texas
  • Ability to perform general physical activity daily.
  • Basic computer skills including, Business Central, Outlook, Microsoft Word, Excell and other programs a plus.
  • Reliability in attendance and transportation
  • Attention to detail a must!

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the entire contract lifecycle, including drafting, negotiation, execution, and maintenance
  • Ensure compliance with FAA regulations, company policies, and industry standards
  • Collaborate with management team to address contract-related issues and mitigate risks

  • Foster positive relationships with clients to enhance satisfaction and encourage repeat business
  • Utilize Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) proficiently to create, edit, and manage documents, spreadsheets, and emails
  • Assist with administrative tasks related to contract administration, quoting processes, and general office operations
  • Previous experience in a similar role, preferably within the aviation industry
  • Previous experience in an FAA Part 145 repair station environment, quoting, contract administration, aviation parts sales, or customer sales/support

Avionics Supervisor/Lead - Wichita, KS

As a Lead your focus will be centered on leading a team of technicians to produce timely results that are of the highest quality and accuracy. This position requires a strong knowledge of aircraft electrical, electronic, and instrument systems and the ability to troubleshoot and repair those systems. The job includes varying amounts of parts replacement or repair, electrical troubleshooting, inspection of aircraft or systems, and general mechanic application. Supervision of the team and direction of project flow will be a primary function. Overall coordination of workflow for the project will also be a primary function. Work order processing, logbook, entries, required FAA forms, and pricing to the customers are routine duties. Job duties may vary each day and will encompass projects as designated by the Avionics Repair Manager. Will be required to work independently and lead multiple projects. Will have direct customer contact. 

  • Communicate as required to receive and understand work assignments.
  • Perform tasks completely, accurately, and in a timely manner.
  • Ensure that work accomplished meets FAA requirements and customer specifications.
  • Ensure compliance with internal and FAA inspection and documentation requirements.
  • Properly complete equipment & parts change sheets, work order signoffs, and other paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Properly identify (tag) and store customer property and equipment.
  • Installs and functionally tests electrical/avionics components and systems on aircraft per engineering specifications and drawings to ensure a defect-free system.
  • Submits work for inspection & approval.
  • Analyzes and repairs aircraft avionics systems such as Nav/Com, Transponder, DME, and Autopilot to the sub-assembly level utilizing aircraft & avionic manufacturer’s prints, maintenance manuals, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
  • Repairs or replaces defective components and wiring and performs necessary work to ensure installations meet conformity.
  • Troubleshoots and repairs systems using acceptable practices including splicing, soldering, and wire termination.
  • Sets up and operates necessary test equipment.
  • Conducts functional and operational tests to evaluate performance and reliability.
  • Performs minor maintenance and cleaning/adjustments of electronic/electrical components and associated equipment on the bench.
  • Assists other Line and Install Technicians in the aircraft as required.
  • Use the Corridor system to enter daily labor against the correct Work Order and item numbers.
  • Reviews work, including forms and records, to ensure compliance with the Inspection Procedures Manual, Operating Procedures, and FAA regulations

Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma, or equivalent required.
  • 2- Year Electronics Technology degree
  • 7 years prior work history dealing with aircraft avionics and test equipment
  • 4 Years’ Experience working with Garmin G1000
  • Experience with the following test equipment: Pitot/static tester, Nav 401L, AT 600, Oscilloscope
  • Previous FBO/general aviation experience required.
  • Must meet the requirements of the Airport Authority to receive a badge and have no ramp restrictions

? Perform installations, modifications and integration of various avionics systems and associated equipment in accordance with OEM installation manuals, drawings, and other approved data on 14 CFR part 23,25,27 and 29 aircraft

? Complete assigned job cards and tasks within allotted time frame

? Maintain required logs and records to include documenting the approved data for which the work was performed.

? Install, program, update and troubleshoot radio communication and navigation systems, flight and engine instruments, inverters and flight control systems, using hand tools, multi-meters and soldering irons

? Must be able to build, terminate and route wire harnesses in accordance with IPC 620, AC43.13 and manufacturers supplied data where applicable.

Qualifications

Avionics Technician Position Responsibilities:

  • Perform maintenance /repairs on all aircraft avionics components and electrical systems components, such as airborne navigation and communication systems, autopilot systems, weather radar, transponder, pitot static systems, compass systems, instruments and accessories.
  • Test and troubleshoot instruments, components, and assemblies, using technical manuals and diagnostic equipment. Install, inspect, test, and repair avionics equipment, such as radios, navigation systems, autopilot systems, and radar system. Fabricate and install avionics equipment in aircraft instrument panels.
  • Perform all avionics functions unsupervised, at any time. Wire and connect various aircraft system components according to industry practice and manufacturer prescribed techniques and methods. Read and understand electrical wiring diagrams.
  • Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance on avionics equipment
  •  Maintain a clean and neat work area.
  • Able to maintain repair station records and documents as required for Avionics department.
  • Assist co-workers and those in other departments to successfully perform job tasks and functions when necessary.

 

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements

·         High school diploma or equivalent

·         Previous experience as an Avionics Technician or in a similar role preferred

·         Strong knowledge of avionics systems and components

·         Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics

·         Ability to pass FAA required Alcohol and Drug Testing requirements

·         Familiarity with wiring techniques for avionics applications

·         Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) and perform physical tasks working in aircraft as required

complex installations including systems interface engineering, configuration and test

? Avionics Service Technician (VFR, IFR certs, basic systems troubleshooting, testing,
etc.) We have digital, fully automated RVSM capable Air Data Test Set and Digital /

Summary

The Avionics Technician performs maintenance on aircraft avionics components and electrical systems components, such as airborne navigation/communication systems, weather radar, autopilot, compass systems, and accessories in accordance with MFG specifications and FAA guidelines.

 

Reports To

The Avionics Technician reports directly to the Avionics Manager.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Duties include the following (other duties may be assigned as required by management):

  • Reports daily to their respective Maintenance Team Leader or Avionics Lead Technician.
  • Completing tasks assigned to himself/herself in accordance with the procedures set forth in ACI Jet’s various maintenance manuals (Repair Station & Quality Control Manual and Air Carrier Operations General Maintenance Manual).
  • Comply with all FARs, Operations Specifications, Company Policies, and Company Procedures.
  • Ensuring that the appropriate technical data is available during the performance of maintenance, preventive maintenance, and alteration activities.
  • Ensure the shop premises are maintained in a clean and orderly manner.
  • Ensure that all maintenance or alteration processes are appropriately completed and documented electronically on the maintenance forms as set forth in ACI Jet’s manuals.
  • Determine whether a hidden damage inspection should be performed, what should be done, and properly perform maintenance.
  • Submits all required work orders, reports, and other forms to the appropriate company authority in an organized and timely manner.
  • Maintains a close, productive, and beneficial relationship with ACI Jet managers, peers, colleagues, manufacturer’s representatives, repair facilities, and the FAA.
  • Ensures the safety and quality of all assigned duties and responsibilities by actively and positively participating in ACI Jet’s SQMS program.

  • A&P Certificate.
  • Must have at least 3-5 years of experience in aviation maintenance, preferably corporate.

Install, troubleshoot, inspect, test, adjust, repair, and/or modify avionics systems, sub-systems and equipment installed on aircraft, in accordance with applicable Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include:

 

  1. Interprets and installs avionic system in accordance with installation drawings, schematics, handbooks, and other technical documents with minimal or no supervision.
  2. Responsible for inspecting components of avionics equipment for defects and examines accuracy of assembly and installation.
  3. Troubleshoots to determine malfunctions on aircraft avionics components and electrical system components.
  4. Accountable for testing avionics equipment under simulated or actual operating conditions to determine performance and airworthiness of aircraft.
  5. Provides analysis of tests results to identify adjustments, repairs, or replacement of defective components.
  6. Assures that only tooling and equipment in current calibration is utilized for installation, repairs, or modifications of aircraft avionics/electronic system.
  7. May accompany flight crew to perform in-flight adjustments/tests and to determine/record required post-flight repair work.
  8. Inspects and tests aircraft communications components, navigation components, weather radar, auto pilot, compass systems, and accessories, certifying that all meet manufacturer’s specifications.
  9. Responsible for completing all reports, forms, and checklists as required in accordance with company, government, and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations.
  10. Complies with all safety requirements and uses all mandated safety   equipment in accordance with company, government, and OSHA requirements.
  11. Assists coworkers and those in other departments to successfully perform job duties and functions when necessary.

Position Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Service and repair avionics systems and components. Must have experience on Citation X, Global Express and Challenger 300/350.  Troubleshoot and repair of avionics equipment to component level, including areas of: Com/Nav, ADF, Transponder, DME, Radar, audio systems, navigation instrumentation autopilot system components, radio altimeters, etc.
  • Enter write-ups of work performed in the computer or on the disc sheet after work is completed.
  • Stay current with changes in the technical area, as service letters are issued on avionics equipment and other informational items are furnished for new product etc.
  • Assist service and maintenance of avionics systems both on the bench and in the aircraft.  Check avionics systems in aircraft after repairs.
  • Assist the avionics supervisor and crew leader with customer relations, closing of work orders and other administrative functions when needed.
  • Assist in maintaining avionics library, service bulletins, microfiche and any new technical information and the orderly operation of the service shop area.
  • Maintain current calibrations status and records for shop test equipment.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Requires a minimum of a high school diploma
  • Factory Certification of various types in avionics and repair plus a minimum of three years of previous related experience. Must have experience on citation X, Global Express and Challenger 300/350

  • Strong working knowledge and understanding of the Federal Aviation Regulations and ability to understand manufacturers manuals
