Job Summary

Supervisory Responsibilities

Supervise the day-to-day operation of the Application Services Department. Focuses on the big picture, ensuring that goals and objectives are strategically aligned with the organization’s vision and mission. Works with employees to ensure accountability, growth, and teamwork. This position oversees and directs the repair of products and services through the work of subordinate employees, implements policies, programs and directives set by the organization's executives, and is responsible for pay determination, hire and termination decisions, and performance reviews.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Direct the operation of the Repair Station, including scheduling, estimating, and pricing; manage day-to-day repair station and maintenance operations
  • Manage and execute responsibilities as the Chief Inspector
  • Responsible for staffing, training, scheduling, inventory planning and equipment maintenance
  • Work with the repair station personnel, engineering, manufacturing and purchasing to review and resolve issues
  • Work closely with the Aviation Sales, Engineering and Technical Services teams on updated technical information and customer sensitive situations
  • Provide repair trends and applicable feedback to the Quality and Engineering teams
  • Ensure repair station equipment is in good working order and functions to FAA and company regulations. Identify fixture concerns and work with Manufacturing Engineers to improve productivity
  • Host and respond to audits from third party customers and entities. Ensure that internal audits are performed on schedule
  • Obtain updates and standards issued by the FAA, EASA and other regulating bodies. Ensure that the repair station is operating in accordance with those requirements
  • Perform all required administrative functions, monthly reports and correspondence, and any other related duties required to complete the tasks assigned
  • Responsible for overall implementation and operation of all quality assurance policies, programs (i.e. calibration program), and procedures used throughout the FAA repair station facility and operations
  • Responsible that a high degree of quality is maintained in all operations, and that appropriate records are maintained to provide full traceability for all repairs
  • Ensure that no defective or un-airworthy part or product is shipped from the repair station
  • Train, coach and manage all repair station employees on policies and procedures, including new employees and cross training of others
  • Work with the Sales Team, Engineering and CTO in service bulletin releases, updates, or any other releases as required
  • Disseminate information to external Authorized Service Centers
  • Gather data from the Authorized Service Centers on a routine basis for internal evaluation, including warranty adjudication and findings
  • Ensure that ACR University and other training resources are up to date
  • Audit ASC’s on a routine basis through self-audits and on-site visits
  • Maintain work instructions for each section of department
  • Monitor and manage the revenue targets
  • Work with FAA Liaison to ensure that department is meeting or exceeding FAA requirements
  • Maintain BRC/ASC Program
  • Participate in Internal and External Audits
  • Ensure that employees are following all company rules and regulations
  • Ensure that CMM’s are updated for new products along with revisions to current and legacy material
  • Ensure inventory is properly maintained and transacted
  • Ensure that department is running efficiently by identifying and implementing required resources
  • Manage projects that include evaluating administrative functions for efficiencies, reducing redundancies in all repair processes, and focusing on a cleanly managed shop (6S approach)
  • Assist in the recruitment and hiring of the most qualified applicants to meet the needs of the organization
  • Other duties as assigned by management

Required skills/abilities

  • Good people skills; ability to work with both management and repair technicians
  • Must possess a thorough working knowledge of the aircraft avionics systems
  • Working knowledge of FAA Repair Station Standards and Regulations
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English
  • Proficient with a PC and Microsoft office products (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams) Required
  • Computer and website navigation skills required
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work in team settings and independently
  • Detail orientated
  • Phone skills
  • Must be willing to travel domestically or internationally at rare occasions

Knowledge, Education, and Experience

  • 2 Year degree required; Bachelor preferred
  • 5 Years of Customer Service Experience required
  • Airframe Certification required, A&P desired
  • Past supervisory experience desired
