Tool and Die Maker / Machinist

Position Details 
Type:  Full-Time
Location: 913 Plaza Drive, Pocahontas, AR 72455  
Benefits: Health Benefits, Vacation time, Supplemental Insurance   
Schedule: 3 days on 4 days off – 12 hour shifts (Thursday – Saturday) 
Starting Pay: TBD – Hourly, Based on experience

Position Summary 
The Machinist is responsible for operating and maintaining various machine tools to produce 
precision parts, tooling, and molds. This role requires a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail, as well as the ability to read blueprints, use precision measuring instruments, and apply advanced machining techniques. The Machinist will be working with steel, aluminum, magnesium, and titanium.

Principal Responsibilities 

  • Operate and maintain manual tooling machines, CNC machines, such as lathes, milling 
    machines, grinders, and drill presses.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to determine the dimensions and tolerances of finished workpieces.
  • Use precision measuring instruments, such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges, to ensure parts meet exact specifications and tolerances.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of machined Tooling and Molds to identify defects and ensure adherence to quality standards.
  • Write and edit CNC programs to optimize machining processes and improve efficiency. 
    SolidWorks proficiency preferred.
  • Select appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and materials for machining operations. Set up 
    machines and adjust controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth of cut.
  • Perform routine maintenance on machines and equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure the workspace is clean and organized. 

Position Requirements 

  • High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of a machinist apprenticeship program or technical school training preferred.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience as a machinist in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in operating manual and CNC machines. Strong understanding of machining 
    principles, tooling, and materials and proficiency in the uses of SolidWorks.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects, stand for long periods, and perform repetitive tasks with precision.  
  • Good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively with team 
    members and supervisors.
  • Must be able to pass Federal DOT drug and alcohol screen
