Instrument / Avionics Technician

Addison Avionics Group, established in 2009, is an FAA Certified Repair Station with over 20 years of experience in the aviation industry. Based in Addison, Texas, the company holds class ratings for Limited Instruments, Radios, Accessories and Airframe. The company specializes in flight-critical instruments and provides repairs for a wide range of components, including Air Data, Engine Instruments and Gyroscopes serving General Aviation, Corporate and Government/Military Agencies. The Instrument / Avionics Technician is responsible for the troubleshooting, repair, and testing of aircraft instruments, avionics and electronic systems in accordance with FAA Part 145 regulations, OEM instructions, and company procedures. The technician ensures all work is performed to the highest standards of safety, quality, and airworthiness while supporting the efficient operation of the company.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

·         Perform troubleshooting, repair, and testing of instruments, radios and accessories.

·         Diagnose faults using approved data, test equipment, wiring diagrams, and technical publications.

·         Replace or align electronic components and wiring in accordance with applicable maintenance manuals.

·         Conduct functional and / or operational checks to verify proper operation.

·         Document all work performed in accordance with FAA and company recordkeeping requirements.

·         Ensure compliance with Part 43, Part 145, the Repair Station Manual (RSM) and Quality Control Manual (QCM) procedures.

·         Ensure all test equipment has current calibration.

·         Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in accordance with company and CRS policies.

·         Participate in ongoing training to maintain technical proficiency, regulatory compliance, and stay current with evolving avionics technologies and installation practices.

·         Assist other departments as workload permits.

Minimum Qualifications

·         High school diploma or equivalent.

·         Working knowledge of aircraft instruments, radios and accessories.

·         Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and OEM maintenance data.

·         Proficiency in the use of avionics test equipment and diagnostic tools.

·         Must be able to work effectively in a team environment and under minimal supervision.

·         Must possess good communication skills and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

·         2–5 years of aircraft instrument bench repair experience within a Part 145, OEM, or similar setting.  4 years of relevant military experience is also acceptable.

·         Familiarity with Air Data, Engine Instruments, Radios and Gyroscopic Instruments.

·         FAA Repairman Certificate.

·         OEM or formal avionics training certifications.

·         Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and OEM technical data.
