Job Summary

The Avionics Lead Technician is responsible for leading projects including general aviation aircraft avionics installations, troubleshooting and/or performs needed repairs to aircraft systems and or units using test equipment and hand tools, as needed, to return aircraft to service per FAA and manufacturers specifications. In addition, this technician will lead projects and oversee assigned technicians

Duties & Responsibilities

Directly supervises assigned technicians
Responsible for motivating, mentoring, training, and providing constructive criticism to technicians
Leads projects as assigned ; Prioritizes work flow on assigned jobs, Makes technical decisions regarding discrepancies and job flow
Maintains high level of communication with Avionics team, Production Scheduling, and other departments
Monitors labor hours versus scripting, and communicates discrepancies with regard to project deadlines to Avionics Team Lead and Avionics Manager
Ensures on time delivery of assigned project
Follows established procedures for assigned projects
Communicates technical issues directly to customers
Responsible for daily turn-over logs with assigned project information
Utilizes outside technical resources as required
Performs routine maintenance and inspections on general aviation aircraft
Performs major repairs and modifications
Ensures proper care of customer property through all phases of projects
Works overtime as required to meet project deadlines
Accurately completes required paperwork and work order details in Corridor
Orders parts using Corridor
Continually keeps clean and organized work area including personal tool box
Meets or beats flat rates for most of the assigned tasks

Qualifications & Job Requirements

Experience & Competencies:

Experience:

Minimum five (5) years’ experience in general aviation avionics and/or general electronics
Owns basic hand tools to complete work (list will be provided)

Education:

FCC Certification is preferred
Airframe certification preferred

Other prerequisites

Pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
Ability to obtain Airport Issued security badge
Valid Driver’s License
