Upholstery and Trim Technician-2nd Shift

This position is for our 2nd shift working 3:00 PM - 12:00 AM. Training will originate on the 1st shift with a transfer to the 2nd shift upon completion.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

  • Performs incoming inspections of materials including fabric, foam, leather, ultra-leather, and vinyl
  • Measures, marks, and cuts materials to drawings and work instructions
  • Bonds materials using various processes and adhesives
  • Applies and finish wraps materials to composite and kydex interior panels
  • Sews leather and other finish materials prior to application
  • Maintains labor tracking and job card/task sign-offs within ERP/MRP system
  • Follows safety policies and uses required personal protective equipment in accordance with company and government regulations and guidelines

Other Duties/Responsibilities

  • Works with Leads and higher skilled technicians to develop and refine skills and techniques
  • Performs all assigned tasks in accordance with Pilatus quality standards
  • Fabricates aircraft carpet using cutting, binding, and serging machines
  • Maintains a clean, safe, and healthy work area
  • Assists coworkers and other departments to successfully perform job tasks when needed
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by Lead or Manager

Requirements

Skills/Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. Two (2) years related trade school or vocational degree preferred
  • Demonstrated craftsman-level abilities and quality, and a minimum of two (2) years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to use hand tools, adhesive spray gun, industrial sewing machine, and/or other specialized equipment
  • Ability to use measuring tools and perform basic math computations
  • Ability to read, understand, and adhere to engineering drawings, tech specs, and other relevant documents
  • Eye for precision and attention to details
  • Able work in restricted spaces, and lift up to 40 pounds
  • Regular, reliable attendance required, and willingness to work overtime and other shifts as needed
  • Proficiency in general computer use and MS Office software, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English
  • Must qualify as a U.S. person in compliance with ITAR 22 CFR 120.15
