Aircraft Interiors Paint Technician
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
- Has thorough understanding of all pertinent paint shop processes, paint systems, and quality expectations
- Performs customer-facing, finish-grade painting in accordance with applicable specifications
- Receives and inventories raw parts and materials from warehouse
- Fills and sands imperfections in panels in preparation for painting and/or finish wrapping
- Bonds plugs, brackets, kick plates, etc. as required by customer specs
- Cuts holes/modifies panels as required by customer specs
- Cleans tools and maintains a clean, safe, and healthy work area
- Maintains labor tracking and job card/task sign-offs
- Follows safety policies and uses required personal protective equipment in accordance with company and government regulations and guidelines
Other Duties/Responsibilities
- Works with and accepts guidance from Leads and higher skilled technicians, while helping to build skills and abilities of lower-level technicians
- Develops and implements skills and techniques required to perform all assigned tasks in accordance with Pilatus quality standards
- Assists coworkers and other departments to successfully perform other job tasks as assigned by Lead or Manager
Requirements
Skills/Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Three (3) years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Familiarity with and ability to use basic hand tools, paint spray gun, and other specialized equipment
- Ability to use measuring tools and perform basic math computations
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and other relevant documents
- Eye for precision and attention to details
- Regular and reliable attendance required and willingness to work overtime and other shifts as needed
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office
- Must qualify as a U.S. person in compliance with ITAR 22 CFR 120.15
