Aviation Quality Inspector

JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Title: Aviation Quality Inspector

Position Reports to: Chief Inspector

Location: Fargo Jet Center – Fargo, ND

 

Primary Operational Objectives:

The Aviation Quality Inspector Inspector is responsible for ensuring that all aircraft maintenance is accomplished in accordance with the Repair Station/Quality Control Manual and current Federal Aviation Regulations.  They will be actively engaged with the in-process inspection and return to service of aircraft in maintenance.  In addition, the QA Inspector will assist in the continual process improvement of the maintenance department by identifying risks and participating in determining and implementing processes and procedures to mitigate risk and promote a safe working environment.

 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Upon A/C arrival, obtain associated documentation, aircraft logbooks, flight logs, and document receipt
  • Oversee aircraft weighing procedures in accordance with manufacturers recommended practices and procedures
  • Assist with coordinating inspection activities in compliance with computer tracking maintenance programs (i.e., CAMP, FLIGHTDOCS, M-TRAX, SIERRA TRAX)
  • Assist with opening work orders and assembling work packages based off customer needs
  • Perform inspections of Required Inspection Items (RII)
  • Final engine runs, flight control surface balancing and rigging, final OK to close, etc.
  • Determine technical data on all articles overhauled or repaired by the repair station are secured and kept current with latest revisions
  • GSE Equipment current Inspections
  • Upon receipt, perform inspection of all new, repaired, and overhauled parts/components for proper documentation / logbooks
  • Perform walk around inspection of aircraft for release from maintenance
  • Perform return to service (RTS) process and ensure aircraft meets all airworthiness requirements prior to returning to service
  • Responsible to follow and comply with all safety rules and regulations
  • Provide data to customers as requested
  • Collaborate with other departments, team members, and customers in a positive and professional manner
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

 

Qualifications:

  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license required
  • 4+ Years of relevant inspection experience preferred 
  • Current Inspection Authorization (IA) preferred
  • Post-Secondary education is preferred, Associates degree or higher
  • Experience and knowledge of aircraft/engine maintenance records and logbooks required
  • Working knowledge of (FAA regulations, AD’s, SB’s, TCDS, etc.)
  • Knowledge of FAA certification processes, including parts, repair processes, drawings, and all applicable compliance requirements
  • Ability to maintain high quality standards and attention to detail while focusing on utilization and efficiency standards
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to plan, prioritize, coordinate, and manage own work in a fast-paced environment and solve problems effectively and creatively.

 

Physical Demands:

  • Frequent standing, walking, sitting for long periods of time
  • Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
