Avionics Test Product Line Apps Engineer:
Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to bring avionics test products to market? VIAVI is looking for an Avionics Test Product Line Applications Engineer at our Lenexa, Kansas location. This is a cross-functional role within Product Management that works closely with the engineering and development teams.
Job Responsibilities:
· Providing technical expertise to customers through presentations, product demonstrations, installation, and maintenance of avionics test products.
· Assisting product management in assessing potential application of products to meet customer needs and preparing detailed product specifications for the development and implementation of customer applications/solutions.
· Building applications based on customer requirements to demonstrate feasibility, including rapid prototyping and/or product demo for a client.
· Ensuring that the product applications/solutions are functioning according to specifications.
· Defining hardware and software defects, interfacing with development teams, and coordinating resolution.
· Assisting in writing product user manuals and application notes.
· Providing follow-up support to product management and customer personnel by disseminating technical information on specific applications.
Required experience:
· Military, air transport, and/or general aviation avionics systems maintenance background including aircraft fuel quantity systems.
· Knowledge of avionics including communication, navigation, fuel, and/or other RF systems.
· Problem-solving capabilities and ability to organize and present test data.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Desired experience:
· Bachelor’s degree in electrical or RF engineering or a technical associate degree with four years of avionics maintenance experience. (An equivalent amount of related experience may be substituted in lieu of an academic degree.)
· Program applications design and development experience.
· Meets ITAR Guidelines as defined by USCIS (US Citizen, Green Card/Permanent Resident, or approved Political Asylee status)
