Lead Avionics Tech/shop manager
Semiplane LLC is expanding its operation to new facilities in Lufkin, Texas. This is an opportunity to join a growing company that specializes in major glass panel upgrades to the PA-46 family of aircraft. These are high end airplanes that require the utmost care in aesthetics and functionality. Be part of the team that provides enhanced safety and situational awareness to these classic airframes through the latest in Garmin avionics.
The successful candidate will have the following skills and experience:
- Ability to read and understand wiring diagrams, schematics and aircraft maintenance manuals.
- Experience at building up wiring harnesses in accordance with manufacturers documentation
- Removal and installation of aircraft interiors, avionics and flight control systems.
- Installation of avionics and power wiring in aircraft.
- Installation and wiring of reciprocating and turbine engine instrumentation
- Fabrication and installation of instrument panels, brackets and sheet metal as necessary.
- Experience at configuring and troubleshooting avionics
- Thorough knowledge of aircraft pitot, static and transponder systems.
- Ability to organize avionics upgrade jobs to include scheduling and procurement of parts and supplies.
- Assist less knowledgeable technicians
- Work as part of the team to complete avionics upgrades in a timely manner.
- Minimum two years working on avionics
- A&P or technical training in electronics preferred.
