Helicopter Avionics and Mechanics
Job Summary:
Growing 145 Repair Station located at Allegheny Country Airport is looking for experienced Helicopter Avionics and Mechanics. The Helicopter avionics and mechanics will be responsible for ensuring our helicopters are up to FAA standards. The helicopter mechanic will be responsible for inspecting the helicopters, determining if any parts need replacing and diagnosing and troubleshooting any mechanical and technological problems.
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Perform scheduled/unscheduled maintenance to ensure aircraft airworthiness on all systems including: (e.g., Airframe, avionics, flight controls, troubleshooting systems, inspections).
· Conducting regular and methodical inspections on all the helicopters in our hangars, according to inspection regulations.
· Identifying potential problems, performing diagnosis procedures to determine the causes, and troubleshooting the problems.
· Performing the necessary repairs to correct diagnosed problems in a timely manner.
· Conducting scheduled maintenance, such as oil changes.
· Using the appropriate instruments, tools, and software programs to measure performance and make repairs.
· Communicating with helicopter pilots about the performance of the helicopters during flight.
· Troubleshooting any issues brought to light by the helicopter pilots immediately.
· Making helicopter retirement recommendations based on previous maintenance, repairs, and flight times.
· Keeping detailed maintenance logs and reports.
Required Skills/Abilities:
· Knowledge of FAA regulations.
· In-depth working knowledge of aviation mechanic tools and aircraft diagnostic tools.
· Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
· Great critical thinking skills.
· Strong computer skills.
· Good communication skills.
· Ability to work under pressure.
Education and Experience:
· At least 2 years of experience working on Helicopter Required.
· Experience working with Airbus, Bell, Leonardo helicopters preferred.
· Avionics experience or A&P license preferred.
Physical Requirements:
· Able to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle and feel, reach with hands and arms.
· Able to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl up to 60% of the time.
· Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
· Able to lift or move 75 pounds.
· Must be able to see to perform work and to see approaching vehicles, aircraft, and machinery.
