Position Summary
The Maintenance Technician performs maintenance, inspections, repairs, and modifications on business jet aircraft in accordance with applicable FAA regulations, OEM manuals and RSQC Manual. The Maintenance Technician ensures all work is performed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards while maintaining accurate documentation and supporting overall maintenance team goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, inspections, and repairs on aircraft, systems, and components.
- Troubleshoot and correct discrepancies using approved technical data.
- Document all maintenance activities in accordance with FAA regulations and company procedures.
- Assist in the removal and installation of aircraft components, engines, landing gear, and related systems.
- Follow work instructions, drawings, and maintenance manuals to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Request inspections and coordinate with Crew chiefs and Quality personnel as required.
- Ensure all tools, equipment, and parts are properly used, controlled, and returned to designated locations.
- Adhere to FOD (Foreign Object Damage), tool control, and safety programs.
- Maintain work areas in a clean, organized, and professional condition.
- Support aircraft towing, jacking, and general ground handling as required.
- Communicate effectively with DOM, Crew Chiefs, Quality Inspectors, and management regarding work progress and issues.
- Participate in on-the-job and recurrent training as assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support operational and customer needs.
Minimum Qualifications
- Valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Certificate or at least a Airframe Certificate.
- Working knowledge of FAA regulations (Parts 43, 65, and 145) and standard maintenance practices.
- Ability to read and interpret manufacturer maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and other technical data.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Must supply own basic hand tools in good condition.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience maintaining business jets (See capabilities list for requirements.
- On-the-job training or OEM training on specific aircraft(s).
- Understanding of basic ways to make maintenance work easier, faster, and more efficient.
Performance Standards
- All work must meet FAA regulations, OEM manuals, and company procedures without deviation.
- Maintenance documentation must be complete, correct, and submitted promptly.
- Follow all safety protocols, including PPE, FOD prevention, and tool control.
- Repairs and installations must meet manufacturer specifications and pass required inspections.
- Complete tasks within established timelines while minimizing delays.
- Maintain clean work areas, communicate effectively, and demonstrate teamwork.
- Participate in required training and maintain technical proficiency.
Working Environment
- Primarily hangar-based and engine shop environments with occasional outdoor ramp duties.
- Exposure to aircraft noise, exhaust gases, and moderate lifting and climbing.
- May involve confined space or elevated platform work.
- Overtime and weekend work may be required to meet customer delivery schedules.
