Cabinet Technician 1

Department: MRO

Reports to: Interiors Cabinet Lead Technician

Status: Full-Time

Exempt/Hourly: Hourly

Job Summary

The Cabinet Technician 1 is responsible for building and refurbishing of custom aircraft cabinetry.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Learn and assist team members with basic cabinetry refurbishment and fabrication
  • Assist with repairing or replacing old and/or damaged wood according to customer specification
  • Assist team members with removing cabinets from aircraft and transport to shop
  • Assist with disassembly of cabinets, removing all parts; package and label parts for identification
  • Assist team members with fabrication of new cabinets, doors, tables, and wood trim, working from blueprints, drawings or specifications, and utilizing required materials/tools such as table saw, band saw, routers, sanders, and various other hand and power tools
  • Assist with repair of broken hinges, latches, doors, etc. utilizing hand and power tools
  • Assist team members with fit, mount, install, and assembly of aircraft cabinets and/or doors
  • Assist with removal of Formica or veneer from existing cabinets prior to refinishing
  • Assist with covering new and old cabinets with Formica or wood veneer as needed per finish instructions

Qualifications & Job Requirements

Experience:

  • Prefer one (1) years’ experience in cabinetry or other related field
  • Ability to complete assigned tasks in reasonable amount of time
  • Ability to follow directions

Other Prerequisites

  • Pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
  • Ability to obtain Airport Issued security badge
  • Valid Driver’s License

Working Environment

  • Primarily indoors in a temperature-controlled environment
  • Work is performed in an aircraft hangar environment with moderate noise level. The employee is frequently subject to inside environmental conditions, which provide protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes
