The members of the AEA Trusteeship Committee have presented a slate of nominees for election to the AEA board of directors for the three-year term of March 2019 to March 2022.
There are four candidates running for three repair station member seats, including three incumbents running for re-election.
In addition, there are four candidates running for one associate member seat, including one incumbent running for re-election.
Pursuant to AEA bylaws, each AEA member company is allowed to cast one ballot!
The election takes place online between January 21 and February 13.
Green Mountain Avionics – Middlebury, Vermont
Bill Hanf is the president and owner of Green Mountain Avionics in Middlebury, Vermont.
A member of the AEA Government and Industry Affairs Committee, he regularly attends AEA Connect Conferences and the annual convention since he founded Green Mountain Avionics in 2011. Hanf served on the AEA ad hoc committee for warranty best practices for shops and manufacturers, and he serves as an AEA ambassador to encourage better communications between shops and local FSDOs.
He has nearly 30 years of avionics experience in the military, corporate and general aviation markets.
Hanf has completed one three-year term as a director on the AEA board and is seeking re-election for a second term.
Avionics Specialists LLC – Loveland, Colorado
Jerry Stooksbury is the president of Avionics Specialists LLC, located in Loveland, Colorado. He is the lead design engineer for his repair station, as well as a pilot and flight instructor.
Stooksbury has attended the AEA’s annual convention every year since 2005. In 2009, he was awarded the FAA’s national Avionics Technician of the Year. He believes the aviation industry is still in the midst of a substantial restructuring to meet changing/evolving economics, demographics, and technology, and he would like to contribute to the strategic evaluation of these trends and changes required to successfully capitalize on these challenges and opportunities. He also is a member of his local airport’s commission.
Stooksbury has completed one three-year term as a director on the AEA board and is seeking re-election for a second term.
Wysong Enterprises - Blountville, Tennessee
Steve Wysong is president of Wysong Enterprises in Blountville, Tennessee, a full-service customization and completion center for helicopters. Since the early 1970s, Wysong has worked in various niches of the aviation industry, including helicopters, airliners, corporate jets and small airplanes. He has been a manager or owner of an aviation business for nearly 40 years with primary experience in avionics and specialized electronic systems in rotorcraft.
Wysong chairs the AEA Government and Industry Affairs Committee, and he has served on the AEA and GAMA-sponsored FAA Avionics Rotorcraft Forum. He also is affiliated with the Airborne Law Enforcement Association and the Helicopter Association International.
Wysong has completed two three-year terms as a director on the AEA board and is seeking re-election for a third term.
ACS Avionics LLC - Georgetown, Texas
Aaron Hall began his aviation career in 1993 with the United States Navy as an aviation electronics technician. Hall joined Signature Flight Support in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where he worked as a lead bench technician. Following that experience, Hall acquired employment with Lufthansa Bombardier Aerospace in Berlin, Germany. He was transferred after four years to Bombardier in Dallas, Texas, where he was a lead technician. Hall then became the avionics manager for Cutter Aviation at Dallas Executive Airport.
Wanting to get into the OEM business, Hall acquired employment with Avidyne Corp. in 2007, where he was a senior field service engineer. In 2013, Hall became the director of avionics for Trego Dugan Aviation, and in 2017, was the avionics manager for Wisconsin Aviation. Hall is now the director of avionics and repair station accountable manager for ACS Avionics in Georgetown, Texas.
Hall attends the AEA International Convention & Trade Show along with each of the AEA Connect Conferences to provide technical and industry training to AEA members. Hall also provides training for IA renewals with the FAA and the AOPA. Hall has a doctorate of science in aviation technology. He is an FAA DER candidate and a private pilot. He has written multiple AML STCs for ADS-B and was project manager for those projects.
Avidyne Corp., Director of Marketing
Tom Harper is the director of marketing for Avidyne Corp., which has its corporate headquarters in Melbourne, Florida. He is responsible for corporate identity, branding and demand-generation initiatives. He joined Avidyne in 1998 and is a longtime veteran of the avionics industry. He previously worked for AlliedSignal Aerospace (now Honeywell) in Olathe, Kansas, where he served as manager of marketing communications.
Harper also serves on the AEA Finance sub-committee, and he regularly attends AEA Connect Conferences and the AEA International Convention & Trade Show.
Harper has completed two three-year terms as a director on the AEA board and is seeking re-election for a third term.
Satcom Direct Inc., Dealer Account Manager
Marc Hammond is a dealer account manager for Satcom Direct. While the company’s headquarters are in Melbourne, Florida, Hammond is based in Ottawa, Ontario, and works with SD’s dealer/MRO network on connectivity and flight data synchronization solutions for corporate and VIP customers.
Hammond started his career in the burgeoning airborne satellite communications industry with EMS Satcom in 1998. As the industry advanced, he worked with corporate, military and government clients on advanced in-flight connectivity solutions with EMS and Honeywell, joining Satcom Direct in 2016.
Hammond graduated with an EET at Lambton College, and continues to support the school by mentoring business and engineering student groups.
AirSatOne LLC, President
Jo Kremsreiter is the president of AirSatOne LLC, which he founded in 2009. AirSatOne offers satellite connection to Iridium, Inmarsat and Viasat satellite communications networks. The company provides solutions for the flight deck and cabin, including Broadband, Ka-Band, Ku-Band, Internet, Voice, Datalink, AFIS/ACARS and FANS 1/A.
Under his leadership, the company has grown from a small startup to doing business around the globe while maintaining a 99 percent customer retention rate.
Kremsreiter has been in the avionics business since 1986 and has worked on and/or modified aircraft in both the fixed-wing and rotary-wing category from single-engine Cessnas up to BBJs. He has worked on the bench repairing avionics to component level, installed avionics equipment, was a systems engineer and has worked for small MROs, large MROs, managed avionics departments (both large and small) and has worked for several avionics OEMs.

Dan Romain’s passion for aviation shows up in every aspect of his life, from creating dialogue with new customers around pitot-static test solutions to visiting with technicians in the hangar during a graveyard shift to time spent with family – where his 9-year-old daughter will hear a plane and ask, “Daddy – is that an A350?”
Romain looks forward to every AEA event, including the AEA International Convention & Trade Show in the spring and the AEA Connect Conferences around the globe.
