While COVID-19 has provided challenges, it has also provided opportunity for many of the FAA’s initiatives in flights standards and aircraft certification to move forward using remote meeting technologies. Among them are stop-gap measures dealing with repair station renews, using remote viewing technologies for certification of products and businesses, and expansion of technician certification and training. In addition, focus on access to the FAA recognized advisory documents within ASTM, and a focus on Safety Sensitive employees returning to the workplace after an extended absence.
