Assembly Technician

Role Description The Assembly Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in the Greater Milwaukee area. This position is responsible for assembling mechanical and electrical components using hand tools, power tools, and soldering equipment. Daily tasks include interpreting technical drawings, following assembly instructions, quality control inspections, and ensuring product consistency and adherence to industry standards. The technician will follow safety procedures, maintain an organized workstation, document work performed, and collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production schedules. The role may also involve assisting with continuous improvement activities and supporting inventory control for assembly materials.
Duties & Skillsets
- Strong understanding of cable prints
- Build/assemble individual cable assemblies and kits
- Understand different forms of measurement
- Detailed soldering experience preferred
- Ensure safety compliance with all assembly/production equipment
- Communicate with engineering for production planning and lead times
- Material handling-including inspection, pulling parts, cable cutting, label printing, awareness of counterfeit parts
- Organizational and time management skills are essential
- Knowledge of product shelf life
- Keeping the assembly/production area FOD free
- Knowledge of ISO and ASO standards
- Must be able to multitask
- Some experience in ERP systems. Microsoft knowledge is a plus
- Available to start in 1-2 weeks
Other Qualifications
- Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma/GED. Three to five (3-5) or more years of related Production Assembly
- Reasoning Ability: Able to define problems with resolution in mind. Must be strongly process oriented
