AEA Offers NCATT AET Review Course, Aug. 5-7

The Aircraft Electronics Association plays host to the NCATT (National Center for Aerospace & Transportation Technologies) Aircraft Electronics Technician Review Course at its Dan Derby Center for Professional Development in Lee’s Summit, Mo., Aug. 5-7. This three-day course is designed to provide a review for all 34 subject areas of the NCATT AET certification exam.

At the end of this review course attendees should be prepared to take the NCATT AET certification test, which will be administered free (a $100 value). Upon successful completion of the AET exam, attendees will be eligible to test for additional ratings for NCATT Radio Communications Systems (RCS), Dependent Navigation Systems (DNS) and Autonomous Navigation Systems (ANS).
The course covers the following areas of study: resistor calculations; electronic numbers systems; AC voltage principles; amplifiers; oscillators; semiconductor devices; schematics; aircraft performance; safety; and basic troubleshooting.

It includes use of the Avionics Certification Test Study Guide textbook during the class and a copy of the Avionics Certification Worksheet Book ($50 value) for participants to keep. The course is taught by Bruce Bessette, an NCATT senior instructor with more than 30 years of avionics and maintenance experience.
