A message from the Executive Director, FAA Flight Standards Service

Dear Colleagues:

There is no question that the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) has profoundly affected not just our personal lives, but also our shared passion, the aviation industry. These challenges bring great opportunities for coming together and achieving unimaginable results.

I want to bring your attention to the recent work of the highly dedicated Flight Standards workforce. Our team is publishing daily updates to the Flight Standards Information Management System (FSIMS) regarding COVID-19-driven changes to our aviation safety inspector directives. Through FSIMS, we also are providing links to applicable rule changes published in the Federal Register and exemptions placed in the regulatory docket.

By working proactively together, we will continue to ensure the highest levels of aviation safety as we all navigate this uncertain and unprecedented time in aviation history.

Thank you for your continued commitment to aviation safety.
