Space Based Augmentation System (SBAS) in Australia & New Zealand
Presented by Andrew Andersen, IAOPA
The New Zealand and Australian Governments have contracted with Lockheed Martin Australia for the development and implementation of a regional SBAS, to be known as SouthPAN. SouthPAN will provide an L1 GPS augmentation service (equivalent to US WAAS and European EGNOS) across Australia and New Zealand. This presentation will introduce the project and briefly outline the aviation benefits of SBAS.
