Regulatory Update:
A Year in Review: Transport Canada activities affect our members, and the AEA is actively involved in working with TCCA on regulatory and policy development. This will include items such as SMS, AAM/UAM, RPAS, AME training and, of course, 521.

TSO Conference Summary: The FAA, TCCA, ANAC and EASA host a TSO conference annually, and this year it was hosted by TCCA in Ottawa. This event typically provides information on where the authorities are with TSO regulatory and policy developments, harmonization and issues. It also includes workshops and presentations on specific TSO relevant topics, including technology development and compliance means. A summary of the conference and any relevant information affecting AEA members will be presented.

ADS-B: TCCA issued an AC for guidance in the installation of ADS-B systems in Canada. An industry working group that has been discussing the ADS-B implementation for over six years with TCCA has been meeting regularly to discuss the AC and the concerns with the overall implementation. A presentation on the status of the implementation will be provided. This will include a review of the AC and the main issues, resolutions made with TCCA, and the plan forward.
