Back to Basics: Customer Supplied Parts and the Importance of Traceability

Ensuring proper traceability of parts is essential for a repair station to verify the suitability of components used in maintenance and alterations. This session will cover key aspects of part acceptability, including new, used, and customer-supplied parts. Additionally, will explore various acceptable methods for demonstrating traceability, a critical requirement for all repair stations.

Take the NEW Avionics Installation Certification Exam for FREE
Please note: If you are already an ASTM NCATT-certified Aircraft Electronics Technician (AET), you are eligible to take the NEW Aircraft Electronics Installation Technician (AEIT) endorsement exam for free at the AEA Regional. If you are not AET certified, you must pass that exam first. If you pass the AET certification exam at the AEA Regional, you can take the new installation endorsement exam along with other endorsements. All exams are free for attendees, courtesy of the AEA Educational Foundation. AET certification exams are normally $175, and AEIT endorsement exams are $150.

Garmin Technical Training

The objective for Garmin’s training is to provide participants with in-depth knowledge and skills related to installation, troubleshooting and configuration of Garmin products. The training will cover various topics and tools relevant to the field.

Training topics include:

  • New product training, including overview, quoting, operations and installation considerations.
  • Discussion of the latest installation, troubleshooting, configuration and administrative topics from training classes and FSE calls.
  • GDL 60 installation and registration.
  • Retrofit integrated flight deck installation, troubleshooting, and configuration topics.
  • As GI 275 is offered with Over the Counter options, discussion of specific configurations and software update instructions.
