The Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) recently published a request to participate in an industry survey regarding the maintenance regulations. The following is from the CASA notice:
Have your say on proposed maintenance rules for GA
The general aviation sector has been asking for less complex maintenance rules that reduce costs. We are moving to deliver on that this year as part of our GA workplan.
This includes finalising Part 43 of the Civil Aviation Safety Regulations governing aircraft in private and aerial work operations.
We want your feedback to ensure the final policy (consulted earlier) has been accurately reflected in the regulation, its associated Manual of Standards and advisory materials.
We understand that regulations can be difficult to read, so we've made it easier for you to have your say by including the draft Plain English Guide to Part 43.
To expand on more significant topics, we've also included information sheets and guidance materials.
Completing the survey:
You can choose to comment on as many topics as you like. If you do not have enough time to complete the consultation in one go, don't worry. You can save your input and come back later.
Have your say by visiting the Consultation Hub before 19 June 2022.
While history may make you feel that your voice doesn’t have any effect on the outcome, by not commenting, you will be making that decision for the authority. The Aircraft Electronics Association encourages every employee of Australian member companies to take the time to complete the survey and provide their views, comments and concerns.
