For over 15 years Haggan Aviation, an authorized 145 repair station, has been performing all facets of maintenance for Hawker and Lear series airframes and engines. This includes minor to major airframe inspections, heavy sheet metal and structural repairs, avionics line repair and avionics upgrades and installs, paint and interior. Kansas State University Salina Aviation Dept seeks a faculty member who will work with the department as it helps the university become a top 50 public research university (non-medical school) by 2025. The Aviation Dept at Kansas State University is a growing department with 6 degree options including professional pilot, aviation maintenance, avionics, unmanned aerial systems, air traffic control, & airport management.  The department also provides coursework towards the Professional Masters of Technology degree.  Much of the research potential in four of the six department degree options is related to, or focused on electronics.

Necessary Qualifications: Doctorate degree from an accredited institution, 1 year electronics/electrical experience & 2 years experience in Aviation/Aerospace or related industry. Successful candidate must be prepared to assume the duties of a graduate & undergraduate faculty member.  This position will involve both undergraduate & graduate academic instruction and advising, fulfilling a collaborative research agenda, & fulfilling service obligations.

Preferred Qualifications: FAA mechanic certificate with Airframe rating, as well as FCC license &/or NCATT AET certificate, active Research/Grant experience preferably in the field of electronics &/or electrical engineering, 5 years Aviation Industry experience, University teaching experience, 2 years experience in aviation electronics (Avionics)

Responsible for increasing avionics sales, the Avionics Specialist will research and quote parts, labor and outside services for various airframes and avionics systems in accordance with corporate protocol. Successful candidate will possess knowledge of FAA requirements, have 10 years of experience in engineering, planning and/ or performing avionics installations with 3-5 years experience in pricing, negotiating, and selling services.

Position requires a self-starter who will manage multiple projects in a fast paced working environment. General understanding of MS Office applications with the ability to create spreadsheets, quotes, letters, etc. is also required as well as moderate travel and occasional night/weekend work.
