Elite Avionics Services is a growing general aviation avionics company located at the Cape Girardeau Regional Airport in Cape Girardeau, MO. We are looking to fill the following position to help support our company’s significant growth:

Avionics Technician Assistant

The Avionics Technician Assistant supports our Avionics Technicians in aircraft avionics service and installation, including the preparation of aircraft for service, fabrication of wiring harnesses, performance of equipment inspections, and other duties as assigned.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Prepare incoming aircraft as necessary for avionics installation.
  • Configure wiring harnesses in accordance with factory wiring diagrams.
  • Document work performed using work order documents and log entries as necessary.
  • Assist with returning completed aircraft to service.
  • Remain current with repair station and manufacturer training as assigned.
  • Other tasks as assigned

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Electronics training and/or experience preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to pass a DOT/FAA pre-employment drug screening.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to travel, if necessary.

The ideal candidate will be a motivated individual with the desire and ability to learn in a fast-paced environment. Familiarity with aircraft systems and electronics is considered a plus, but not required. This entry-level position provides significant opportunity for growth within the company.

This is a full-time position. Part-time options will be considered for strong candidates. The starting pay rate is $13 - $15 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.

An avionics installer installs, troubleshoots, maintains, and repairs complex aircraft avionics and electrical systems, such as intercommunications, navigation, and flight control systems.

An avionics installer should be a high school graduate/GED, and have at least one year of avionics or electronic systems maintenance and/or installations experience. Working knowledge of general aviation electronic systems and military equipments is beneficial for the position of an avionics installer. Ability to read, understand, and interpret detailed technical drawings, and wiring diagrams, is essential for such positions.

Experienced Avionics Technician

Experienced Avionics Technician

Airtech of Ohio LLC, located at Lunken Airport in Cincinnati Ohio, is looking for an experienced avionics technician to join our maintenance team. Responsibilities will include: Performing full avionics upgrades and installations, running cables, mounting antennas, connecting instruments for navigation and engine monitoring, and installing radios, autopilots, and passenger entertainment systems. We are a Garmin Dealer, so past Garmin installation experience is preferred.

Avionics Technician Responsibilities:

  • Installing and testing complex avionics equipment and electrical systems on aircraft.
  • Accurate OPS checks to verify that all avionics related equipment works correctly before returning the aircraft to service.
  • Performing intricate and highly reliable soldering on components for navigation, control, and communication systems.
  • Assembling and installing electrical components.
  • Providing accurate diagnoses of difficult avionics problems.
  • Working directly with the Avionics Manager, and any associated engineers, technicians, or aircraft maintenance staff.
  • Performing 24-Month IFR certifications, and RVSM certifications.

Avionics Technician Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's or Associate's degree in avionics or aviation technology, or related OJT training complete with past training records.
  • FAA Licenses (A&P or Repairman preferred)
  • Experience with systems such as ADS-B/NAV/COM/UAT's, Autopilot, GPS, and RVSM.
  • Strong working knowledge of aviation safety practices, technology, and FAA standards.
  • An understanding of other aircraft systems, such as hydraulics and flight control.
  • The ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams.
  • Excellent analytical, attention-to-detail, troubleshooting, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • A desire to figure things out, a determination and willingness to overcome challenges, and a can do attitude
  • Some travel is required.
