LEE'S SUMMIT, MISSOURI, May 4, 2023 -- The Aircraft Electronics Association has created a new logo to better embody the organization’s revived vision and mission statements with accompanying values and strategic priorities. It marks the culmination of the AEA’s recent strategic planning process that began in 2020 and reflects the association’s forward momentum.
The new logo includes an abstract symbol to illustrate the three pillars of the AEA’s mission statement: to educate, communicate, and advocate for aviation businesses around the world. The upward trajectory of the icon signifies the association’s members charting a forward course together. Its look and feel reinforces the aircraft electronics industry’s ongoing commitment to innovation and a vision to power safer and more efficient flight. The abstract symbol is a shade of blue to convey the sky at its most desired tone and the eternal hope for “blue skies ahead.” The logo also includes a wordmark with the well-known acronym “AEA” that is commonly referenced by industry professionals.
“For more than six decades, the AEA has been focused on being a global technology-driven association – one that embraces change and invests in innovation,” said Mike Adamson, AEA president and chief executive officer. “The new logo embodies a renewed sense of purpose of nearly 1,300 member companies and symbolizes an innovative industry on the move. Following a multiyear strategic planning process led by our board of directors and several ad hoc working groups, the new mark captures the spirit of our international industry backed by the expertise of aircraft electronics professionals, and it comes at an important time as the association positions itself for the future. As aviation’s technology experts in more than 40 countries around the world, our professional community will come to recognize the logo as a source of pride as we develop next-generation and safety-enhancing technologies.”
With a more cohesive visual identity and a simpler color palette, the new logo supports the modernization and transformation of the association. It is only the third mark in the AEA’s 66-year history. The first logo was established in 1957 when the association was founded, while the second-generation mark was introduced in 1997.
More than 1,600 AEA members in attendance at last month’s AEA International Convention & Trade Show in Orlando, Florida, received a sneak peek of the new mark. To download the new logo, click here.
