How to Solve the B2 Shortage in Europe: A Roundtable Discussion
The aviation industry in Europe is facing a serious challenge: a lack of qualified B2 engineers. B2 engineers are responsible for maintaining the avionics and electrical systems of aircraft, which are essential for safety and performance. The demand for B2 engineers is increasing due to the growth of Advanced Air Mobility, the introduction of new technologies, and the retirement of older workers. However, the supply of B2 engineers is not keeping up with the demand, resulting in a shortage that threatens the competitiveness and sustainability of the industry.
To address this issue, various initiatives have been launched by different stakeholders, such as regulators, airlines, training providers, and associations. One of these initiatives is the collaboration between AEA (Aircraft Engineers Association) and EAMTC (European Aviation Maintenance Training Committee), two leading organizations that represent the interests and needs of aviation maintenance professionals in Europe. AEA and EAMTC have been working together for the past two years to develop and implement solutions that can help attract, train, and retain more B2 engineers in Europe.
This session will be an excellent opportunity for anyone who is interested or involved in B2 engineering to learn more about the latest developments and trends in this field, as well as to network and collaborate with other professionals and experts. Don’t miss this chance to join the discussion and contribute to solving one of the most pressing problems facing the European aviation industry today.
