AEA’s apprenticeship program is a U.S. Department of Labor approved Competency-Based Occupational Framework (CBOF) for Registered Apprenticeship programs. CBOFs are designed by industry subject matter experts and define the purpose of an occupation, the job functions that are carried out to fulfill that purpose, the competencies that enable the apprentice to execute those job functions well, and the performance criteria that define the specific knowledge, skills, and personal attributes associated with high performance in the workplace.
"We agree that successful completion of this program will meet the intent of the regulation stated in 14 CFR section 65.101 (a)(5)(ii) for the issuance of a repairman's certificate.”
AEA training courses, in the classroom or online, can help satisfy apprenticeship program curriculum requirements as noted in the table below. Where an AEA course is in development it will be noted with TBA. Additional curriculum to support the apprenticeship program can include employer designed on-the-job training (OJT) and related technical instruction (also noted in the table below).
